Wat Ratchaburana

Wat Ratchaburana is one of Phitsanulok's historic temples, located near the Nan River and within the city's old quarter, close to Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat (Wat Yai).

One of the temple's most distinctive features is its historic chedi, whose aged brickwork gives Wat Ratchaburana a character quite different from the city's more ornate temple landmarks. The temple grounds also preserve architectural details that reflect the long religious and cultural history of Phitsanulok.

Its location makes Wat Ratchaburana easy to combine with Wat Yai, Wat Nang Phaya and a walk along the Nan River — turning several of the city's historic landmarks into an easy route through the old heart of Phitsanulok.

For guests staying at Wangkaew Hotel, it offers a quieter way to experience the city's heritage beyond its most famous sights.

Worth noticing: Take a closer look at the old chedi and architectural details around the temple grounds. Their age and texture are part of what gives Wat Ratchaburana its distinctive character.
